CREATE YOUR OWN ACTIVITY SCHEDULE: Select your activities each morning after breakfast. You sign-up for activities with your friends, so you can attend the same activities together. If entering 4th grade or lower, you travel together with your cabin group to activities and your activity schedule is different each day of the week!

Each of our summer camp options promotes making friends, increasing self-confidence, and developing life skills through a success oriented focus. Created in 1977 by an adult with learning disabilities, SOAR provides fun, challenge-by-choice outdoor adventure experiences so that participants may gain greater awareness of their own strengths and improve self-esteem and confidence. Whether you want a 6 day adventure or a 21 day trip, there are options for everyone. SOAR staff are dedicated, patient instructors who are trained to work with this population of campers.
Our camps offer activities including backpacking, horseback riding, surfing, caving, snorkeling, llama trekking, study skills and more, for beginners and beyond, located across the country's most scenic places. The two SOAR basecamps are in the Blue Ridge Mountains of western Balsam, North Carolina and the wild and wonderful Dubois, Wyoming. Seacamp's SCUBA diving program is open to qualified campers. Courses are designed to give the diver training in SCUBA techniques enabling them to use SCUBA as a tool for underwater research. Satisfactory completion of Basic or Master Diver certification course earns certification through NAUI. Already certified campers choose from our combined marine science/SCUBA courses.
Seacamp aquatics programs include sailing and windsurfing. US Sail certification is offered to beginners in sailing. Seacamp offers the American Red Cross course in lifeguarding.

Our unique *1st Timer Program* is tailored specifically for first-time campers. With extra staff providing constant support and encouragement, we assist kids in managing homesickness, building confidence, and thriving in their new adventure. Limited to just 50 campers, this close-knit environment ensures personalized attention, which is why over 92% of participants are excited to return year after year.
At SNC, campers engage in a wide range of activities, including nature exploration at our active Nature Center, connecting with animals at the Pet Zoo, and participating in programs from the Department of Natural Resources. They also partake in outdoor adventures like canoeing, fishing, backpacking, horseback riding, archery, Lego, water skiing, arts & crafts, and team-building exercises.

We seek to also build a camp community based on respect, fairness and friendship with a focus on responsibility and decision making. We want children to build new friendships, grow and build up old ones and learn more about themselves in a safe and encouraging environment. Try something new, meet someone new, learn more about yourself and improve your skills in areas that you want. We have a population from all across the world as well. Campers, counselors, senior staff supervisors, all come from all walks of life and we want to share that camp experience. All are welcome to this experience.
